Hi everyone, I came accross a chat web app that lets you chat to anyone currently visiting the same website as you.

I haven't really looked into to see what the downsides are but you can access the service any time by entering gabbly.com/ before any url you visit. This creates a floating chat window with any other gabbly users showing. We could use this as an impromtu method for enlisting quick help or feedback from other talkMicro members quickly and easily.

I plan on using it for the next week or so if anyone is interested in trying it out.

Just change your bookmarks to: www.gabbly.com/www.talkmicro.com

This way, every time you browse the forum you will automatically be able to see if anyone else is logged into the chat room.

A downside I noticed is that it's possible to have very immature people use that chat to say things you'd rather not see.

I was just at the Gabbly chat site, thinking that I might want to use it on my blog. But when I observed so much bad language and inappropriate suggestions, I've decided that it's not something I'd want to be connected to.

Chances are that using Gabbly here wouldn't have those kinds of problems - folks here are serious about their photography and are quite polite and friendly. But with my own blog, well - you just never know who might say something bad, so I won't take the chance.

But I really do like the concept, and have changed my bookmark here to the Gabbly bookmark.
