Default FeaturePics

http://www.featurepics.com/

I signed up at this place a few days back. A little different in concept - you set your own prices, can select royalty free or rights managed, or "collectible" for your pics.

So far the reviewing is fast. They are friendly and answer questions (via email) quickly. You get a page showing your "published" photos and it shows how many "clicks" (or views) each one has had and how many sales (well, none yet but it's only been a couple of days and the site is only 2 months old).

I'd like to see this place take off too

Uploading is up to ten images - works very well, categorizing is easy, though the upload doesn't grab the IPTC data so you have to add the keywords.

Gracey, thank you very much for forcing us to provide an IPTC data extraction routine. We will add this feature in the coming week.
You have started a dialog that we want to extend. Thanks to talkMicro for providing a place for this conversation.
So, we will be back to you shortly.

Doug, IPTC data extraction is online (http://www.featurepics.com).
The only problem we found is that some Authors are using the ObjectName IPTC Tag, not the Headline tag as in an Image Title.

The ObjectName IPTC Tag is similar to a filename and may include a unique identifier.

We extract an Image Name from the Headline IPTC tag.

To avoid confusion we use the Headline Tag as the Image Title and populate the ObjectName Tag as a string.

I hope we will have some comments and suggestions so we can "clean" this feature up.

Yes, we are planning to include FTP upload.
We agree - it is a very important feature.
Thank you for asking and wish you best, Elena.

Elena - I have tried twice now to send an email to the "contact us" address at the website. Both times it's come back saying "delivery refused".

Perhaps the email box was full

Has the address changed? There were no attachments with the mail, and previously an email I sent was received.

I have some questions about the categories and a couple of suggestions, but it needs more explanation than the little "suggest a category" box.

What should I try next

Gracey, we are debugging the address...
Please use my "elena at cgk.com" address in mean time. Thank you, Elena.

Okay, I tried that one and got the same response.

Perhaps I am not meant to make the suggestion. I didn't really want to post it in an open forum, partly because I don't believe anyone else has instituted anything of this nature, but think it might be something worth a thought.
