iStock and Shutterstock have to be the only two micros worth uploading to, they are the biggest and have the largest library. I've uploaded to most of the sites listed here and only made a decent return on these two.

Hi Rob, I upload to 15 sites. 3 are fairly new for my uploads. You can look at :

Shutterstock
iStock
Dreamstime
Bigstock
Canstock (was always slow but picking up nicely for me this year)

If you still have some time:
Fotolia (they pay you for Feb $0.20 per image approved. Know Forgiss did 1500 uploads I think in Jan 06.
Microstockphoto.com (New site, but the owner John push your images. The approvals is lightning and you can ask any question you want on their forum.)

These are the ones that is giving a good flow of business for me.. Good luck..

Ice I submit to all listed except canstock, the best two by a huge margin are iStock and Shutterstock. I'm also waiting on approval from scanstock.

My bets is SS and then DT on income. iS has the second most sales but is very close to DT income wise due to the amount of sales. Nice thing of IS is that they advertise a lot. I bought 3 magazines and in all 3 IS had atleast 2 FULL PAGE adds. They also had an artical on IS that was very informative.

Goodluck with your uploads! Keep us informed on how your sales are on the other sites..

well i have given up trying to join these guys
i sent in my first 3, one got an 'ok' the other two were dismissed for various reasons (this was when i first started doing this in may)
today i have tried another twice removing 2 and replacing with stuff dt has accepted and i think personally are way better than the one these guys liked and i am still getting shot down in flames.
i use paintshop pro 9 for my pix and always save as highest quality in the jpeg optimizer and can't get another single 'ok' from them
oh well, maybe i'll give it another go in a couple more months when hopefully i have improved again.

Took me a while to get accepted by them as well, and even now, my pics get rejected quite a bit. It's worth the effort though, for me at least.

Keep up the great work Paula, I'm sure you can do it, if not now, then next time. Meanwhile, keep shooting.

thanks ptlee will maybe try again later today, i am wondering though if it is because i use the jpeg optimiser as every rejection is due to compression ?

I'm not sure, but it sounds to be related. What type of pictures did you send in? Are they full of details like sceneries (trees, grass?)

Maybe you should omit the optimiser, and see how big the file becomes. It's probably better to keep as much details in the images as possible.

thanks, i'll try that, though i tend to do anyadjustments and keep the ones that i send, not the uncompressed version ... oh dear .... time to go hunting through thousands of untouched pics to find the originals
