iStock and Shutterstock have to be the only two micros worth uploading to, they are the biggest and have the largest library. I've uploaded to most of the sites listed here and only made a decent return on these two.

I must admit : Bigstock and Canstock have also picked up. Had over 100 sales at BS in Jan so that $50.The top 3 is the ones already mentioned. The so called big 5..

I tried to register with shutterstock today and they asked me for a scanned copy of either my driving licence or passport. Is this normal? i am very susupicious of anyone asking for this type of document especially in these times of identity fraud.

It apparently has become very normal at Shutterstock, I don't know about other places.

I had to do the same thing at iStock, and just figured they require it for their "employee" and tax records. When I hit $400 at SS, I'm sure they will ask for it along with my tax form.

Hmm... for me that's still a year to go, but I only started uploading seriously like 2 months ago. Anybody knows a postbox for rent in Panama?

Seriously, Shutterstock is doing great for me. But they are size queens. Last year I uploaded my 3MP stuff and I got a warning and 50 rejections at once. Since I upload at 10.1MP, I didn't get one single rejection.

And... minutes after I get approved, I get sales at the stunningly high rate of 20 cents per picture
But then again, I'd rather sell a picture 10 times at 20 cents, than once at 1 dollar ;-)

20? It was raised to 25 cents per picture a few months back...
