Default How is Crestock these days?

I signed up there a long time ago and never uploaded anything. I remember hearing that it wasn't a big seller. Here it is a year later and they are still around. How are they for sales? Should I bother to upload?

don't waste your time on it, unless you have a strange craving for utterly weird reviewers, the lowest payout and dismal sales.

I agree that they have strange reviewers. I get things back saying it is out of focus but even when I look at it again at 200% it's still in focus! (in the right spots) However; since they do have a fairly easy uploading system I kept at it and have a reasonable portfolio now with them. The sales is coming in ups and downs. Some months it's better then for instance Canstock and I'm almost on my second payout.

Having said that; I guess it also depends on what kind of work you do if you do or do not continue or start with them. They seem to favor isolations more then anything and are indeed pretty strict.

I have sold on Shutterstock, iStock, Dreamstime, Bigstockphoto and 123rf.

To me, Crestock, although shows some nice European taste for photography, has not got the amount of customers needed for steady sales. Not that uploading to one more site is such a huge work. Still... Maybe it is wasted time.

I started uploading to them a couple of months ago after a year-long wait, because I'd heard folks were starting to see some sales. I have an 80% acceptance rate. Not nearly as bad as I'd heard. One sale so far. For me it's going to be one of those sites where I check for updates maybe once or twice a month and not put a lot of effort into.

I have less than 50% acceptance rate there.

I have about 56% on IS, and slightly over 50% on SS. I have also been uploading for about two months at Crestock. Only 3 days at SS. I have submitted 61 photos yesterday to SS and they have been reviewed in one day. That is really great! Crestock has 14 photos of mine sitting there for days and days... And still queueing, of course.

Certainly I do not have a big enough portfolio to be able to make any significant statistics. What upsets me, though, is the huge difference between the two major players and the rest of them. It just doesn't compare. What I make in one day with SS or IS, I do not make in one month with the rest of the smaller ones together. So it can't be because of my photos. It must be them. Otherwise I would not sell with the big ones either, would I?

It's a pity, really. I will keep waiting for a few more months, and then scale down and keep only the more active ones.

I was bored one day and uploaded my portfolio to Crestock. Didn't have many rejections but I only uploaded my best ones. The sales are better than I expected, 94 so far. There are a lot of $0.25 subscription sales but some at higher prices too.

I read somewhere that Yuri makes about $400/month at Crestock. Consider that he has a six-figure annual income, then consider the percentage relative to your own income at all other sites, as well as the fact that his portfolio is far superior to most, and that should tell you whether or not it's worth it.

I Joined in the beginning of December (3 weeks ago) and have a 90% approval rate with 537 images online (photos and vectors). 41 sales so far. In number of downloads is already better than sites like BigStockPhoto (that really doesn't work so well for me as it seems to do for others, for what I read), Canstock, Featurepics and LuckyOliver.

Most of the sales are subscriptions, but had a few credit and vector sales. No zero download days, which is better than I can say for most of the mentioned above.

The payout is 50$ (only LuckyOliver, from the 2nd tier sites seems to push it to 100$ these days) so I expect a few payouts a year. Uploading was no trouble and the site is really well designed.

Comissions are low, and that's the only thing I'm not really pleased about.

I have been avoiding them for lots of bad reviews in forums and mailing lists, but I was pleasantly surprised on how smooth the whole process is.

I'll give them that one. Uploading is definitely easy at Crestock. Upload, click "Process", "click "Ok", done. Only 123RF is easier, I think.
