Default footage on shutterstock

hello everyone,
I want to try upload some footage, but I´m not quite sure if model release is necessary for people out of the focused area.
Do I need model realease from all the people in this specific video?

I am not sure about video stock but in photography all identifiable faces need to be model released.. I would assume video was the same.

Anyone know any different?

Video can be sold as editorial on shutterstock and a few other sites but they have quality control standards and like the camera to be kept steady, so this example wouldn't get past the reviewers.

It's that time of the year. New Year, new ideas, new directions, new ways to make more money. (new cameras that take video)

I believe that you started with video recently and I wondered how things were going? Any complications for someone else starting out, that you might want to explain before they get to that point and have to figure out what to do.

Are all the sites minimum requirements pretty much the same?

A year ago there were some discussions about video and that clips paid better than still photos. Any news or advise from someone who just got into this?

I went through the forums on the various sites. There are some good threads on the shutterstock forum. This one gave me enough information to know what I was doing.

Shutterstock Photographer Forum :: View topic - Tutorial: Welcome to the world of HD

I have uploaded to SS, istock, pond5 and reveostock. Only sold 2 clips so far, 1 on SS and one on pond5 but I only have a tiny portfolio.

Had no problems with my first 30 uploads to SS but then had 7 out of 8 rejected. Some were rejected for excessive camera movement but the camera was on a tripod. Those clips were accepted on all the other sites. There is a long thread in the SS forum about increased rejections. Something strange is going on there, as I never have a problem with stills and they should be more lenient with video clips with such a small collection.

I would recommend starting with pond5. They have accepted all of my clips so far and have quick review times. It can take weeks to get a review with istock. The forum on pond5 is good and from what I have read on various sites the sales are good there.

Here's my portfolio on pond5

No, it is best to look through all of them. I upload .mov files to all of them and keep compression to 95%, as that is what istock require but some of the sites don't allow files larger than 500mb, so I use more compression or shorten the clip length. I had one clip rejected with reveostock for being over 15 seconds long.
