Default Canon HV20

I've been a stock photographer for numerous years now and am interested in branching out into videoclip stock. I can't afford, and don't want, to invest thousands of pounds in gear just yet as I dip my toe in the waters.

The nearest I've come to video capture has been the video function on compact digital cameras but have had great success incorporating these via iMovie into multimedia presentations to supplement still content.

Would the Canon HV20, being a HD camera, be a good model to test out my skills and the market?

Thankyou,

Jay

I shoot stock video with an Canon HV10 and it dose great! I have sold full size HD clips from it. You can look at my gallery, all of the HD clips were shot with the HV10

Default Thanks

Thanks for your reply, and great work by the way. I'm now leaning towards the HV10 as it will probably fit in my stills camera bag without much trouble. If the business model shows real promise I won't have any hesitation about buying the Canon XH A1 within the next 2 or 3 months. The HV10 will be a handy learning tool and carry everywhere cam.

Just trying to get my head around Final Cut Express HD

Your welcome, Go to the Apple website and read the Final Cut Express forum often, I got Tom Wolosky's book and it was perfect for learning FCE. I find for just cutting clips that don't need any major adjustments iMovie works great. Good luck and I think you will like the HV10
