I don't see it as a problem. There isn't all that much that's different. Part of all the fuss over there is that 80% of the people never bothered to read the TOS when they signed up in the first place

The only reason they are reading it now is because someone has pointed out that it's changed.
Oh, they look at it all right, but they don't really read it. So many threads over there with people asking - how did i get this sale (per pic sale) and how much do i get for it, and where did it say they could sell my pics other places and so on.
It's on the TOS, always has been
There's a few things I guess have changed, but I read the old one when I started and the new and don't see a heap of differences to me. The wording for the "licensing" thing is a little wonky and they should probably change it - makes it sound like anyone can buy our image and then relicense it, but that's not what it means at all. it means we are allowing SS to license our images to the purchasers
I'd say they really should have a lawyer writing this stuff...but then nobody would understand it :P
The CD-a-month thing is probably creating more stir. It could be a problem in future for anyone who does to decide to go exclusive and their pics are sitting on discs somewhere. On the other hand, if people were smart, they wouldn't submit photos that are high enough quality and style for rights managed (which isn't quite the same as exclusive). RM is usually where it starts - get a taste of a few RM sales and you want more...lots more

anyhow, they've announced that there will be a place on your profile to opt out of the cd sales if you wish, just like there's a place to opt out of the per pic sales.
I personally don't have a problem with the cd-a-month and an extra 5 cents for every image burned to cd is a good thing.
I don't load images to SS that I expect to sell as RM or gallery art.
Anybody who has any serious concern about their images on SS should print out all the information (TOS and other threads with explanations) and go to your lawyer with it. It costs me about $80 every time I have to take something to my lawyer like that, but at least I already know ahead of time what I am getting into.
