Default Dreamstime Approval Times

Is it only me?

I have files uploaded on December 18th that have not yet been reviewed. It's painful to upload many files to a site that takes 2 weeks to review them.

Strangely enough, SS reduced approval times to a couple of hours during the Holiday period.

Hopefully things will get better... Maybe some reviewers went on Holiday?!

I think you're right about many reviewers going on holiday. I have images stuck in the DT queue also.

But the speedy SS reviews have produced a first for me. I have over 250 fractals on SS, and have never had one refused by them--can't say the same for my photos--usual issue of noise with my Canon sharpshot. However, my Happy New Year from SS was to have a whole batch of 10 fractals refused for--you guessed it--NOISE!! :?:

Mind you, none of these fractals were created with Apophysis which is basically a noisy flame generator. I think the reviewer was hung over or just made a decision to reject the majority of the batches they were reviewing without even looking at them and putting the usual "noise" rejection on them.

I'm thinking of resubmitting them. Do you think I should include a note to the reviewer, or just resubmit without a note. By the way, my new avatar is one of the ones rejected.

I'm not sure if you should resubmit with a note. There's a thread talking about resubmissions on SS.

See here: http://talkmicro.com/viewtopic.php?t=745

Last month I got an image refused for noise. I resubmitted with a note saying "resubmission of file ID #### after further noise reduction."

It was refused with "Please do not resubmit" as a reason... what can I say?

Good luck and have a great year. Cheers,

Antonio

Thanks, Antonio. Think I'll wait a couple of weeks and slip them into other batches, a few at a time.

Yes, I noticed that the increased inspection speed at SS seems to come with a price. I had 6 files uploaded recently and got one through. That usually doesn't happen. I uploaded most of those files to IS and got them all through. And usually iStock is the super picky one! Had no problem with those same files on the other sites as well.

And in regards to DT, yes it's very slow there. A few days ago I uploaded some "2007" illustrations. I see I should have done that a lot quicker! The faster approvals at SS and SX have them already up, with sales.

I just resubmitted a few batches of images that had been previously rejected at SS - and they all got approved. Go figure. The review times are ridiculously fast now, it's great - too bad DT is slow now. Once one gets quicker, the other gets slower, ah well...

And that's why it pays to resubmit.

Dreamstime is definitely messed up...why let your queue build up and then reject everyone's photos, especially when those photos make iStock and SS?

I just had a look...
The batch uploaded on Dec 29 still has 138 hrs to go, the batch I just uploaded now has 268 hrs.

That's just an indication. Around New Year I had images stuck for 22,21,20 hrs for 3 days.

SS is very picky about noise. For now, I downscale all my photos from 10 to 6MP for SS only, and most get accepted. It's a bit ridiculous, since SS upizes your pictures again. Why wouldn't they go then for the original size? Well if it's that what they want, they just get it
