Just quit Crestock
I decided to quit crestock, they rejected some of my biggest selling shots, saying they were out of focus  ............they all are accepted at other sites.
One a woman on a bicycle was printed 1/2 page in a Swiss magazine in December.
I review all my shots at 100% in photoshop & would never dream of submitting sub-standard work.
To compare I have sold 38 photo's on Shutterstock today so far, not bad for out of focus photo's. 8)

Yeah, i haven't uploaded any recent stuff there. I'm not sure they know what a good shot is
They rejected a few of my best sellers too...they were in focus, they just said they aren't stock
They are really going to limit what their purchasers will have access to. And in doing that, I'm not sure they will survive.

I have uploaded 10 images today as a test. If they reject more than 4 I know they don't know what they are doing. So far they have been all accepted where they were reviewed so far on other sites..

Who wants to spend 10 dollars on a photo, when they can spend 1 or 2 bucks, and still get great quality?
Crestock doesn't get it. They reject waaay too many photos, and they don't have enough traffic or something...I have photos on that site that are never even viewed, let along sold - and then those SAME pics on other sites, have made at least a couple of bucks.

Well, what I understand from them is that they haven't started their marketing campaign yet. That is slated for spring. I agree - they reject images that are selling elsewhere. Their idea, apparently from a reply in their forums, is that they want different and better images than everyone else. The problem at this point is that they won't have enough images to entice buyers, and as far as I know, none of the images they have accepted are exclusives.
The fact remains some of their "today's best" photos are just not acceptable on other sites (blown highlights, poor colours, etc.) and some of their "todays worst" are darn good stock images (not all - some of them are just sad  )
Plus they've indicated they don't want stuff like landscapes and flowers unless they are very unique - not unusual for stock sites, but strangely, though stock places frequently say "no" to them, when they do get on, they sell.
Some people would certainly pay $10 to buy a photo if they don't want to buy into a subscription - there are other sites out there with $10 images as well. At SS the affiliate sites sell images "per pic" rather than by subscription, so you might only make .20 for a sale from "image 2" at SS but if the affiliate sells a "one-off" you might make $1.39 or $3.00 for "image 2" and you get paid through SS for it. The affiliate sites have the pricing set for differing sizes of your photo, so the purchaser can just buy the size they need - some are more than $20 per image, and they do get sold.
I don't pretend to understand what stock sites want anymore - just when you think you get it, BAM, they change their mind

...and I am seriously considering asking them to remove my images also.
Once again today's image has some badly blown highlights. I doubt it would be accepted at some other sites, yet here it is at crestock as "today's best".
I uploaded two images yesterday - first in a while - they was rejected today
Well, I am used to rejection, but the reason was "we believe these are out of focus".
These are already placed elsewhere (more than one elsewhere) - while they have "selective focus" the part meant to be in focus is. If they can't see it they need glasses. If they don't understand the use of selective focus that makes me wonder even more about their standards.
I don't think they really know. I'm not sure I want my name associated with a place that doesn't understand basic photographic technique.
...and wouldn't you know it, I just updated my website with a link to my gallery there

The funny thing is they just used one of my images on teamwork ... ( Can't find that it links to my portfolio. I don't mind them using it, just wanted the benefit of additional marketing) https://www.crestock.com/en/news.aspx
This is so weird! 9 out of the 10 images was approved. Do you think we might have a spy reading our public post?
Lets put it to the vote. How many Images have you got APPROVED online there? I have 31 out of a possible 100. My average approval rating accross all sites is about 86.9%...

I have had 14 approved, but submitted only a few - maybe 5 in the reject pile. I'm really hesitant to submit anything else - not because of rejections, just because I'm not sure of their knowledge anymore.
And if you read their response to any of the questions in the forums it's just a pile of doublespeak. They rejected a bunch of Forgiss' stuff - imagine that?
Umm, I never bothered to figure out my average - most of my recent batches at SS have all been 100% - my very last batch wasn't though - 5 out of 9 approved, but I was iffy on a couple of them anyways. MSP has been 1 reject in all my uploads; SPK has been 100%; Totally Photos I've had one reject; CityPix I've had 1 reject; Feature Pics 100%; Gimmestock - I can't remember, but very few rejects there.
I don't have galleries of the size most do though. I really don't want to put my print work out there for .20 a shot, you know?

Ice: I love it... About 89.9% I think mine is about 71.89767656545%
Seriously though my approval rate is about 70% but it's mainly due to Istock and Dreamstime, Shutterstock seem to like my images.
Gracey - Have you sold anything at totallyphotos yet? I Havent - alot of views but no sales.
I havent tried Crestock yet, with the mixed reviews its getting here, I dont think I will untill they get their feet off the ground.
Do they not pay more for prints like some of the other sites do?
I like fotolias system for this, its nice to have more options.

Lots of views on Totally Photos too, but no sales yet.
I didn't even know crestock did prints , but unless you have a per pic sale at SS, you get the same no matter what kind of pic it is.
