Default Anybody put Microstock Photos up on Alamy?

Before I got hooked on micro stock, I joined Alamy and passed QC. I have some RM images up with them, but haven't submitted since the QC disk.

I've been kicking around the idea of submitting some of my better microstock photos (of sufficient resolution) to Alamy and selling them with the RF license. To the best of my knowledge this legal.

Just wondering if anybody else does this? Had any success sales wise?

Any reason why this would be a bad idea?

Given the lack of response, I'll take that as a no.

Well assuming I actually do this, I'll let you folks how things go.

In case your curious, I found the QC was pretty easy to pass. Just don't sharpen in PS and you'll be good.

I upsized using PS as well.

I've been trying to get through QC since September 29. I sent them the CD with the 10 initial images. Then after two months, I sent them a note asking if I've done something wrong because two months seemed like a really long time - even for a RM agency. They responded that they forgot to upload my disk in the system and they would do it immediately. That was too weeks ago.

Still "Awaiting QC" Hopefully this week

I think the general quality of images on Alamy isn't any better that IS, SS, DT it's also a lot easier to get images accepted and they aren't as worried about copywrite as the micros. I have a friend who has images online, they don't sell as much as they do on the micros but when the do sell the payout is considerably greater.

I don't get it, your profile says you are in the UK, where Alamy is located. Why would you have to sent it halfway around the world? Great photos, BTW.

Half way round the world? Alamy is in the Uk, in Milton Keynes to be more precise.... so it's not even half way round the country and the Royal Mail actually works better than 99% of the mails in the world. They do notify you when they receive the cd so if it get lost you can just send another one, I like the fact they have a mail service, its a lot easier for me with so many images.

And well about the main topic question ..... I passed the QC which isn ot difficult to pass anyway and submitted my first 10, no sales yet in 2 weeks but of course I wasn't expecting any in such a short period, I will upload my best images from my portfolio before the end of the year and will keep you posted
