Default Collections?

I was wondering if FeaturePics.com folks could explain the collection aspect for me. I don't understand it at all, and am very interested in participation in that project.

I am sure it's on the site, but it's me, after all, and I can't figure out how to get to the explanation for it.

Thanks in advance!

FocalFrenzy, I will tell you the truth! We have a hard time to work with collections as well
Only Ian was able to submit new collections recently...

So, we decided to redesign them. Let's keep this subject open!

Then what is the featured photo collection on the home page? And how did my image get in it? Neat to see, and it sold!

Yes, let's keep talking about it. I think it could add a significant value to the site, and again, it's something I'm definitely interested in participating in when it comes to fruition.

I would love to do a collection (or "series") on say, endangered animals, water mammals, or, dunno, social issues. I would suspect at the prices I think they'd go for, a minimum number of photos should be set, as well as having them be rights managed rather than royalty free. That way, the investment would be worth it to the buyer, as well as to the photographer...

Anyway, I'd love to hear others' opinions as to what they think would work - I'm new at all this, and so don't really know my way through this swamp too much...

Best-

I put up a collection recently of portraits of poverty in El Salvador.
It was a completely editorial collection. I was hoping maybe someday it would...

I have gotten an image added to the Sunsets collections without really knowing what its about too. My thinking is that they probably are aiming to create Cd collections with specific themes and you will get a royalty for each sale of a cd with your picture included....Maybe I'm far off tracks here, however I was glad when I saw my picture added into a collection but dont know what it really means. How about getting someone from Featurepics included in this discussion to give us a proper answer?

Sorry about that, I didn't know, this is the first time I've used the forum here.
