Sexy and Nude
Just noticed this on the SS site:
Things which will earn you warning:
10. Keywords that have ?teen? and ?sexy? in the same image, or any other violation related to the guidelines of what is appropriate to the People Category.
How does one know what is inappropriate? Does anyone have any examples? Ive just done my first model shoot, and have about half a dozen images which Id like to submit, one of which is a full frontal nude, but with shadows in the appropriate nether reigons, the image is far from graphic. Id like to get as many model shots as possible into my folio to help boost sales but would rather avoid any warnings.

You can run a keyword search on SS and look at what sort of images they find acceptable.
Nothing that remotely could be considered pornographic in any way - artistic nudes are accepted usually (yours sounds as if it would be considered artistic).
You can't include the keywords teen and nude/sexy in your keywords, even if the model is 19 (still considered a teen) - you should replace teen with something more appropriate, like "young woman/man" or "young adult", something along those lines.

Thanks Gracey.
Basically then, you CAN include the words sexy/nude but just not with the word teen. Makes sense. Has anyone learned anything else / got any tips when it comes to submitting galmour pics, keywords, etc? Still very new at this, really dont want to get one of my accounts suspended through an avoidable mistake! I hope all the sites have the same rules too, with so many microstock sites its hard to remember which ones have which rules.
Which of these images
1,2,3 then
4,5,6 on row two, would NOT be accepted by all the main microstock sites.
It was my first ever shoot. The lighting was awful I know, and the pics are far from good. I only just bought my first SLR 6 weeks ago and have loads to learn still.
The model got the poses/shots she wanted and of course I didnt charge her. I did get the model release signed, just need to figure out what pics are worth submitting, and which ones are a no-no, as Id rather not piss off the mods at the various microstock agencies.

Bob,
I would suggest the 3rd from row one and the second from row two would be acceptable. They are more artistic looking.. some of the others may be considered pornographic...
Although I would like to allow complete freedom within the forum, I think some people may be offended when seeing images like these, so maybe instead of an embedded image just use a link with a warning next time
I hope you don't mind that I edited your post.
Thanks
Doug

The only one worth submitting is the last one on the top row, IMO. The lingerie shot is okay, but there are TONS that are better out there. The remaining three just look too "slutty," especially the smoking pic.
Best thing you can do is research the sites and see what's being accepted. There aren't a lot of frontal nude shots, and those that are seem to be photographed by people who know what they're doing. Probably not a good subject to get into, if you're just starting out...leave it to the pros! :-)
Here's a link to a gallery on SS that has quite a few tasteful nudes:
SS Nudes Gallery
As for keywords, I remember the original thread where "teen" and "sexy" came into question. Someone actually did receive a warning for combining those keywords. The reason for the warning was due to concerns about how women, teens, and girls are portrayed, and the combination of the words "sexy" and "teen" or "girl" implies a concept that can be misconstrued as underage porn.

Thanks for the feedback guys. The model decided which poses she wanted (just kept moving by herself) and what she wore. We just shot the best we could with the light setup which was rather restricted due to space. I thought the cigarette photo was one of the more tasteful, but then again...
I'll be very careful what I submit in future. Many thanks for the feedback, its much appreciated

To be honest, Im not fussed with the chicks at the moment. Just focusing on stock images, mainly food, and enjoying getting my moneys worth from my light tent
I shot the penguins in Simonstown (boulders beach) in South Africa. I'd take my camera down to the beach daily if we had exotica like that here. I was lying on the rocks with them, so close I had to zoom out to fit their heads in the frame. Close enough to poke them in the belly Fantastic experience
The trouble with england is there is not much to shoot. There is probably twenty times less in the way of interesting birds, insects, animals etc in the UK compared to other countries like africa
