Default ShutterStock Slowing down?

How is your June month going on Shutterstock?

After a very good month of May (553DL), I'm noticing a severe drop in sales (only 39DL in 6 days).

Summer? Or is it just me?

I'm not complaining... just want to know if I'm alone in this...

At least IS, DT, FT, SXP and 123RF are doing good... No summer for them

Default funny how people's perspective's are different....

I'm just starting out, but after 33 downloads so far this month at SS, I think that's pretty good!

But then again, I only have about 60 images in my gallery there.

PS....AJN, I took a look at your home page, great landscapes!

Thanks Jaystock... I'm more of a nature/landscape photographer than stock oriented photographer.

In May I had 17.8DL/Day average. Now, it's down to 6.5DL/Day. It's a 60% drop...

I'll keep uploading and wish for better days. Only find it weird to be on SS only. I haven't stopped uploading, so it's not the subscription model.

Cheers,

Antonio

I've been submitting more and more images, but my sales aren't really increasing...so maybe they are slowing down. My portfolio is random as heck, images of random things, snapshots, photoshopped backgrounds & designs, so I would think is some stuff stops selling, other stuff will

I finally have my portfolio up to around 250 there, but I wish it was at at least 500 - 1000. I wish I had more time to invest

I only have 233 images with them... my goal was 1000 by the end of the year... Don't really think I'll achieve that...

I'm betting on variety also... it worked out well... until last month :P

I've had at least 200+ rejections at shutterstock...I think now would be a good time to resubmit some of my better rejected images, and see what goes through second time around

That is easier than keywording new images! haha half the time you resubmit images that shouldn't have been rejected, and they get accepted the second time around. It all depends on the image, the day, the approver, whether or not they have pms/are grouchy that day...yada yada

Just watch out for warnings... I think I read somewhere that resubitting a rejected image without correcting what they said was wrong may lead to warinings... 5 warnings and you'll have to resubmit 10 photos to be "re-accpeted".

I haven't submitted much new and see a pretty steady rate (about a sale a day from 200 pics)

I'm not satisfied unless I'm making at least $5.00 in sales a day on Shutterstock...I've been making JUST under that, but I'm trying to increase it. For my portfolio of around 250 images, I have to continually add at least 20 new images every week in order to maintain that. Hopefully once I get around 500-1000 I can sit on my rear and collect the income.

I guess it all depends on your expectations and goals.
