Default Bigstock question

Someone mentioned that bigstock accepted only 30 keywords. But they also mentioned that if you uploaded 50 (there are around 50 appropriate keywords (no more) in all my images) then that would be ok.

I have around 50 photos on SS, and have made my first $14 in the last 2 weeks on SS

I have around 25 photos on BS, and have only made $1 in the last 2 weeks.

Everyone says BS is a top seller, but my images are the same on both sites.

I cant see why my BS images are not selling. Surely its not because BS allow a max of 30 keywords, and my images (which have been accepted by them) have more than 30 KWds?

Big stock is slow.

Try dreamtime, it is my current number one.

Does DT perform better for you than SS?

I signed up earlier today, will have to see how I get on. Thanks for the links in your other post mate

I think DT is now my number 2 money maker, it's close to fotolia - I'm making in the $50-$70 a month with each of these sites, with a little over 200 images accepted on DT and 350 on fotolia.

BSP is slow, but still worth submitting to - I hit my $50 payout at least once every few months. I have the most images accepted their out of any of the other sites (besides FP which takes everything) I think I'm at a little over 400 images now on BSP. I hope and wish that their sales pick up.

My sales are slow on BS, but I think that it's one of those sites where you really need a sizeable portfolio before you see results. Also, the payouts are low with 30 for Paypal and 50 for check. I like BS, but maybe just because they accept a lot of my photos. I think that BS is worth it in the long run. Also, you never know when sales at their site will pick up overall.

It was my best performer last month. ONly been doing this for a few so haven't seen a real pattern emerge yet but it is definately top three for all months I have been doing it.

Thanks guys. Ive got 40ish photos queued for DT approval and am keen to see how well they do compared with my SS sales. So long as I catch up with Supe by the end of the year (bragging rights, etc ) then I'll be happy 8)

Ive got 50 images with SS, all new within the last two weeks, and am making about a buck a day with them. Is this normal? ie, how long does the "new photos sell fast" phase usually last? When can I expect sales to slow down?

You'll definitely pass me out, I've been slowing down a bit lately - too much going on in life - I need a vacation!!! I'm letting my portfolio "work for me" for a little while. Once it starts losing a lot of steam, I'll start processing more images.

I was only kidding Todd

There is so little money in stock, I'll have to see where I go with it myself. Its a lot of work for not much reward, but Im enjoying it. Just happy to go with the flow and see where it goes

How does it "loose steam" ie do old images really "die" and can anyone explain that in more detail, how images loose their revenue generating ability on various sites.

well with SS especially, half of my sales are images that I've uploaded within the last several weeks, so if I stopped uploading - the only downloads I would really get were keyword hits.
