Default Time Magazine Cover Photo

Purchased from IS for $30 commission. (so much for the people who say MS sellers get a quarter for their images.)

As usual the two sides are picking at it, one says the photographer got screwed, other says, Time used a budget photo because the article was about being frugal. I don't care... I just find it interesting.

And if you get through the mud slinging and insults, you'll still be smiling. Here's another website response to the Time Cover.

Interesting reading with both of them.

I can see both sides of this argument, but just because something used to be worth much more once, doesn't mean it still should be...

That image probably took about 30 minutes to take, process and upload. I would say $30 is a fair price. The fact that it ended up on the cover of Time magasine is not important.

The problem is that there are far more stock photographers out there these days, because it's so accessable as a choice of career and its a nice job. Traditionally nice jobs to do don't pay well!

Oh Now You Tell Me!

"Be your own boss, own your own company" they said, "you can take off when you want and spend time out on the road making sales calls", but no one mentioned all the Government regulations, taxes and forms. Add no retirement, no matching funds, no medical insurance or company benefits.

Nice job, sure, but it's a double edged sword.

Thanks for your forum. I like to take photographs. All types of photographs. My favorite is landscape.
