I requested a payout prior to the close date because I knew I would be away and might not have internet access then - but I have received literally no response to that. Mostly out of respect for you, Karin, because I know how hurtful it can be when someone trashes a site you've poured your heart and soul into, I haven't complained about LO. It is really disappointing. I hope the rest of you do get your money. I know a lot of people put a lot of time and effort into making a go of that site. No one should ever be faulted for believing in something. They just didn't live up to their side of the bargain.

Although I have always found LO a ridiculous project, I find equally ridiculous people: (a) complainig for a few dollars; (b) referring to THEM, when at this point it is really HIM; (c) swearing, again, over a few dollars, when the deadline for payout has not come yet.

That's a rather fatuous answer.

How insensitive to call people who contributed to LO as 'ridiculous'. The whole point of this thread is that it is NOT complaining about a few dollars which we are owed (except for the person who lost $157 - that's quite a lot of money!) it is about how LO or Bryan (it's in the same bracket) have made a mint out of people who asked for a payout have either had no response or the extra bit after requesting the payout has endowed Bryan's flopsy framework with quite a few dollars.

Anyway, you are right in that we should wait until the end of May to see what happens.

Agreed. We all just have to wait a couple more days. Hopefully Christina is right about May 30th, but just in case it was a typo I'm prepared to wait until June 30th as it was stated on the site.

I still wish I knew why they withheld payments requested in April...even those requested before the announcement. That's just ridiculous. It took longer than normal for the Bouncers to get paid for April, too.

On another note...it's definitely a good idea to cash out immediately on any site. Last year sometime a couple of people noticed their accounts at SXP had been hacked into and their earnings were cashed out by someone else. Also, most sites that have gone belly up didn't notify their contributors at all. The sites just up and disappeared, and with them went all of the contributors' money. LO is actually unusual in that they announced the closure a month in advance.

I expect it'll be because the money ran out. That's is after all the bottom line as to why they closed down.

Micro agencies get paid immediately for the images purchased, but can then sit on the money until the photographer becomes eligible for payout. LO sat on presumably quite a fair amount while their threshold was set to $100. It then presumably had to pay out a fairly hefty whack to all those who became eligible when they dropped the threshold to $25. It's possible this took them near, if not over, the edge financially.

I hope that all those who are owed (especially those who are owed a lot) get paid. But of course everybody who is owed money, which is now effectively "everybody", is a big debt to cover. Especially when the pot has presumably run dry. They don't have any more image sales to generate revenue. So no more money is coming in.

I suspect that the bouncers got paid for April from the revenue generated in April, and quite likely a fair bit of May.

It will be what it will be, there's nothing we can do about it now.

I requested a $95 payout and it said it'll be paid by June 30th, if it comes great, if it doesn't it isn't and it won't be the last time I've lost some money through stock.

I'm lucky in so much that I'm a full time photographer and as such for me this is something else I can right off to bad debt on my tax return.

I totally appreciate that for some this is a part time income that pays for a few new 'toys' but you need to accept that microstock is a business and in business sometimes people don't pay you, it's a fact of life.

I'm more upset of the fact that LuckyOliver could have been something, I have my opinions of why it went wrong, none of that matters now and I'm not going to lose sleep or get stressed about it, it's business move on!

I tried and tried to the point of Taking the heat but no one listened. NO ONE. Im the Bad Guy OK. Ya right.I saw it coming 6 months ago, you worked there and saw nothing and advised people to stay. My conscience is clear.

Well, it's all gone. Today it's payday. I hope I get my poor 67 dollar from them, so I can buy myself a cake tonight . I'll wait and see what's happening.
