Default Another Tip for Finding Your Photos

Plug your name into Amazon.com's search engine.

I found photos of mine published in seven books on my first try and find new ones all the time. In fact I just found one used on a cover. Woohoo!

Amazon.com: The Politics of Presidential Appointments: Political Control and Bureaucratic Performance: David E. Lewis: Books

I hope you got more than 35 cents for that one.

Do we bow when you enter the room, or do they play hail to the chief and we stand?

Congratulations, Karin! Is your photo on the cover?

Did you search your handle or real name? What are the keywords do you use? Do you know which agency sold this photo? Was it EL?

Nah...got the usual 30 cents. Oh well...I don't mind so much when the books are academic and from small university printing presses. This particular photo has earned $15 so far at SS. Not too bad for an editorial shot.

I searched my name in quotes. Sometimes the book will list the agency, like the book above (Shutterstock), but most of the time they just credit the photographer. I actually prefer that. I haven't found anything under my handle...just my name.

That's a great shot, and you deserve much more!

Did you submit it at DT?

Not yet. I totally forgot they accept editorial now! Guess I'd better get on the ball, huh?

Yeah, I found one that way about a month ago. The playground with the yellow slide was actually the first shot fired when I got my 20D 2 1/2 years ago. I got home with the camera, popped in the memory card and opened my back door. It's in my neighbors backyard. It's in a book on outdoor plans.

Yep, you'd better before the guy leaves office! Coincidentally I also sold an editorial shot at DT today, for $1.20, for small size (level 2). That photo was taken on March 1, 2007, and has made almost $22. Luckily, I only had one sub sale at 0.36.

Occasionally I got unlimited EL DLs and paid $25 per DL. I am sure you have had that too.

Uploading in progress!

I suspect the photo will have a life beyond the guy's term in office...considering he's Arnold Schwarzenegger...LOL Don't think he'll fade from the limelight any time soon.
