Hey Karin, thanks for the tip. I "likely" found one too. I blogged about it... you don't mind me mentioning your name in my blog do you?

Microstock Junction: Photos in Action

Do you guys actually buy things when you find your shots in them? I bought a blanket last Christmas with one of my pics on it - crap blanket - but I just about hollered when I looked down and there it was on a shelf in Walmart.

I think maybe once you get your first item the novelty wears off, so I don't think I'll be ordering this book, but my kid is on a book cover that is coming out sometime this month - the publisher said they'd send a couple comps but I'd likely would have paid for a copy since he's on the cover.

Congrats, Lorraine! Gotta love it, huh?

I've bought a few of the books...just depends on what it is. I gave one to my nephew for his 6th birthday...it was a book of sudoku puzzles for 2nd graders and there was a photo of his daddy and grandpa running in a 5K race together. Couldn't pass that one up, and he absolutely loved it! And being a fan of travel books, I bought one with my photo of Lake Tahoe. And I couldn't resist the book by Martha Stewart's floral designer...haha! Nice show-off piece. Some of them are really expensive though, especially the textbooks, but one of them I'll give to my son for his birthday, because there's a photo of him swimming in it.

I kind of look at the books as a collection I'll pass onto my kids someday. I have some articles my great-grandfather wrote about doing business with the local Native American tribe's chief in Astoria, Oregon, during the late 1800's-early 1900's and love pulling them out and reading them on occasion. I'm hoping the books I collect with my photos will be something my grandchildren and great-grandchildren can also enjoy as little pieces of family history.

Thanks Mattb. I found one of my photos on the Google search. It was used as a cover photo on Terrorism:

Pity it wasn't one of your self portraits, though. It would have shown a carreer pattern: from steroids to terrorism.

Thanks, Matt! Forgot about that one. That's how I discovered Amazon's search to start with. Found one more book that Amazon didn't pick up, too...a nice regional seafood cookbook from the Mystic Seaport in Connecticut.

I also forgot O'Reilly - Safari Books. It's only a publisher, but I've found books there that weren't on either Amazon or Google. O'Reilly - Safari Books Online - Search Results

You really don't know WHAT I put into those steroid bottles, do you?
