Just got back from doing the very same thing. LOL Gas prices = $4.55 at the corner station, so since my last ones at $4.19 are quickly becoming obsolete, I thought I'd get a little exercise, grab a few quick shots, and get away from processing the 450 photos from my sister's high school reunion this past weekend for a bit.

Exactly my thoughs. I could do/send 600 a month to istock, but I rarely sumbit more than 50-80.

Yeah, you're better off uploading fewer images that are higher quality.

The types of images I sell are a little different, though. About half of the images I submit are very simple graphic backgrounds/textures that are tough to say "hey, this one is stellar". Sometimes the stupidest ones sell EL licenses, and that just blows me away. When it comes to photos though, I've been being more choosy lately. I only pick my best 5-10 from each series that I shoot, and then submit those.

I feel like such a slacker...lucky to upload a few images a month during the summer. I'd like to think that those few were really superior shots, but, nope, about the same quality level as if I were shooting tons more. Just lazing away the summer on the golf course.

Nice! That's what retirement is all about I hit the driving range once so far this year, and I need to get back. I finally bought a glove, and I have to try it out. My clubs suck (ripping bag, rusty "variety pack" of clubs)- but they were free, and for the amount I play it's not worth me upgrading them just yet. I suck so bad, but it's still fun to play.

I'm sure you don't need the money as much as a young, jobless (besides stock) married guy like myself does, Lou! Every day I'm hustlin'.

Last two days I couldn't even upload much, besides 4 vectors. Today I designed about 8 more, and am trying to get them uploaded before bedtime. I'm processing the files as I watch tv, on my laptop. Tomorrow is another day. I'll focus on keywording 25 new photos tomorrow.

I shoot for 200 a month or about 50 a week. Some weeks I make it some I dont. I also keep a reserve of about 50 or so in case something comes up or I need to take some time off.

I also have a reserve, and it really saved my butt when I broke my ankle last year and couldn't get around to shoot for several months. Smartest thing I've done in this business! My reserve has somewhere between 150-200 images.
