I'm doing more than 300 a month...but I can't upload them on all the sites. I only do 35 a week on IS. And I have leaned to split them up on SS...I no longer upload on DT, BS or FT.

I've change my strategy a bit. I was trying to increase it to 800 a month but I decided to try and do 400 useful photos that will sell instead of killing myself trying to do 800.

I'm full time stock now. When I wasn't I was doing 200 to 250 a month and I had a more than 50hr a week job. I really pushed myself for a year because I didn't want to continue to work for someone else. I'ts still hard for me to believe that it's all working out.

I'm in the same boat now my friend. I shoot for 25 new uploads a day, for weekdays. It hasn't seemed to happen just yet. I end up uploading about closer to 70-100 new images a week, which still isn't bad. If I can do at least 300-400 per month, I'll be happy. Like you said - it's not just quantity, but also quality. I do end up working very long days, however...the days are just more dragged out. Some days I'll end up working 12-14 hours. But hey, I'm home....working for myself, I can take breaks whenever I want, and I get to hang out with my dog Hurley It beats working for idiots any day.

When you produce 200-500 photos a month, how do you find so many different subject matters to shoot?

I don't know if you know what I mean, in other words, do you shoot many photos of the same subject, or do you shoot many different subjects and limit similar images to a certain number?

Have you ever felt that you are running out of ideas and steams?

I would stick to a level that allows you to produce good quality creative work. I have to say, when I look at some of these portfolios of people who say they produce a thousand images a month, I can see why they have to go for mass quantity.

I am happy if I can keep up with 5-10 per week.

I haven't run out of images just yet - I've been shooting for a while, and have had been collecting a variety of subjects on my hard drive. Since I don't sell only photos, I try and produce series of illustrations every few days. This mixes things up, so that I'm not uploading entire batches of the same subject. I probably have at least another 200-300 images on my hard drives that I could submit to the micros, but I try to shoot a little bit here and there to keep replenishing the supply.

I would go for as many photos as you can get with each photo shoot. I have learned to schedule as many photo shoots as possible in one day. For example I did a photo shoot a few weeks ago with eight people. I had them scheduled to come though out the day with every one being there by noon so I could do group shots. When the group shots were done I continued doing the individuals. It looked like I did a few different photo shoots. That one shoot gave me 300 usable photos. This is how I get a better bang for your buck.

It takes a lot out of me and I know my photos would be better if I schedule them on different days. But I feel at this point is better for me to have more good photos than a few amazing photos to gets me closer to my goal.

Doing photography this way has afforded me to quit my day job at that time with around 1200 photos on the different sites. I have a ton more now on ss and is...I work by myself I don't have an assistant I fix my own photos and when I do this twice a month I get 300 to 500 photos a month.

Lately, I have only been doing one of these a month...I need to get with the program and do at least 2 of these a month for a year...but it's a lot of work fixing 300 photos by yourself. I would love to have another 2000 images by the end of the year. That is the goal...we will see.

Once I start earning the Yuri bucks I will hire a graphic designer

Hahaha - I hear your No matter how far I get with this, I think I'll still keep it a one man show. When you hire other people, then the taxes and accounting get a lot more complicated.

So far for June I've uploaded 300 new images, not all were accepted of course. I'm guessing at least 70-75% on average are now on my main micros. 100% on the newer sites that accept anything. I hope to be able to upload another 100 within the next week or so.

I don't find it hard to keep coming up with new things to shoot, I guess I just keep my mind thinking about stock throughout the day. I watch for anything that sparks an idea. Right now I am sick of being behind this compter, so I'm going to grab the camera, hope on my mountain bike, and see what I can shoot around my neighborhood. Sometimes there are kids skateboarding downtime - perhaps a few of them will want some photos of them in action
