Default Fotolia Confusion?

I looked at my records and some of the sites that list what the photo requirements are and Fotolia shows as 1600 x 1200.

In the FAQ on Fotolia it says 1600 x 1200.

However as I was uploading today I saw this on the page.

Quote:
1 Photos must be in JPEG format.
2 Photo resolution must be greater than or equal to 2400 x 1600 (4 Million pixels).
3 Upload images with normal proportions.
4 Files must be less than 30 Megabytes
1 is easy, 4 is no problem.

#3 = What is "normal"? Is square normal, 16:9, 4:3, 3:2, what's Normal?

#2 2400 x 1600 4MP

Did they change the requirements or is the upload page wrong and the FAQ is right? I'd hate to waste their time uploading new files that are undersized, but I've already been sending them 1600x files for months. I think they accepted some.

Can anyone answer this for sure?

They must have changed the requirements, because I recently had a 2200 x 1600 that wouldn't complete uploading because it was too small. All of my photos from the early days are 2048 x 1536 (3.1 MP).

Could explain why my Fotolia ftp on Thursday night kept choking and stopping. When I used the flash uploader one file said size too small. But using the flash upload, only one out of six files ever made it. I waited about 48 hours, just in case. I finally just sent in the larger files, with the standard upload, and they showed up in seconds. Did the blue arrows and they are ready for review.

It's just odd that their own site has two different numbers? I thought maybe I missed some notification from them. Which wouldn't be unlike my email to think something is spam because it was sent to ten people.

Hi,

It is 2400 x 1600 (4 Mp) and changed with V2. Just let Support know they have missed out changing one of the pages

And now about that "normal" thing.

I suppose this isn't normal. Can I upload it to stock site? Maybe someone needs a long image to run down a page. (haven't taken the time to edit out the names and advertising yet.)

Now you know what I did last weekend. It was an interesting climb to the top, to take some photos of the lighthouse. Put this under what we will do for a photo.

The only way I'd climb that flight of stairs is if it was covered in snow and led to some great powder. Well, maybe for a good photo op.

Coming back down took longer, because I stopped at every landing and looked to see if there was some kind of photo op at that level. I can understand the deep powder thoughts.

No parking up top, even if I had found the road. It was a nice walk and I can always use the exercise.

But no one answered the question. Is this Fotolia "normal" can I upload it as stock? For that matter is square considered normal? When a site asks for something and it says "normal" they should be prepared to explain a little more about what the word means to them.

It's actually six photos made into one to get the effect I wanted and depth of field and focus, from bottom to top.
