This is good news. My sales at Crestock are finally picking up and im just $1 away from my first payout.

As far as shutterstock referrals, I keep getting friends to sign up and never get credit for it. Im not sure what im/they are doing wrong. I think they need to use your referral link and then mention your name/referral code when they sign up. Ive contacted support and they basically told me there was nothing they could do. Its like "oh gee thanks!"

Anyone else have this problem?

Shutterstock has the best referral programme in my opinion but it has one major flaw. There are different referral codes for buyers and submitters so if a submitter signs up under the buyer referral code then you get nothing.

I only ever use the submitter referral code because that is much more rewarding financially. I don't mind losing the odd buyer as a result but refer a submitter that successfully signs up and you get paid for ever more on their sales and they do get a lot of sales.

Fotolia is also worth getting referrals for since they offer commission for 5 years on submitters and overall sals are pretty good there.

All of the other referral programmmes just aren't worth the time or effort really, apart from Dreamstime maybe (at least they offer 3 years).

If it's only a year or 6 months which is a joke especially from sites that are just not making sales. I withdrew my images from Crestock some time ago because of their ridiculous reviewing and lack of sales. Calling this a LUCRATIVE referral programme is stretching it in my opinion.

I seriously considered throwing in the towel at Crestock a few times due to unreasonable reviews and poor sales, but stuck around because uploading is so fast and easy.

I still think that "worst photo of the day" is a load of crap. I havent got any photos in there "that I know about." It just seems like a smack in the face, its one thing to reject a photo but to put a link to it on your main page and mock the photographer, come on!

Anyway, I hope this "Lucrative" referral program maybe stirs up more interest in the the site. I think they have the right idea and I like how the site is set up.
