Default New Site: YAYMicro

I don't think it was mentioned here before. If it was, my apologies.

This is a Norwegian based site. It's accpeting images but will only be open to sales in June.

It has FTP and IPTC read. The upload process is rather simple. I uploaded around 500 images in little time.

They will pay in Euros and will have subsctiption as well as credit sales. They accept editorial and commercial photography as well as vectors.

Comissions will be of 1€ for each subscription download and 1€ to 30€ for credit sales so it's more of a midstock site. The team seems to have come from trad agencies and seem to have a well planned strategy for the site. If it's worth the upload as of now, only you can tell.

Here's my referral link if someone feels like giving them a try: YAY Micro | Sign up

Cheers

Looks like you were fast then I.

I like the look and feel of this site. Very clean and the upload is easy and fast. They just started today the referral program. And they used on of my images for there banners

Being Norwegian I obviously cannot resist the temptation to join. Fresh looking site too!

I joined last week and uploaded a few but they say in the forums that they are not going to launch until June. That puts them to the bottom of my upload list.

I joined a few weeks ago and had trouble uploading. And no response from my email about the problem.
However I just looked at the site again this morning and found the upload facility. Wow. All I did was highlight a bunch of files and away they went. I then reviewed them briefly on their "describe" page and clicked them off for review. I sent them 20 or so as a test and see when they'll show up. I didn't run up against any file number limit per upload but the most I did at one time was 12.
Uploading was probably better planned than any of the other sites. If they went via FTP I couldn't tell, they just went quickly via simply selecting files from my HD.

Yep, some of the other new sites could learn something from them. Easy and fast upload and good and open communications! SY

It looks fabulously simple and straight forward. Very refreshing look! Comissions seem fair (and paid in Euros), and the uploading is great. And I just can't believe we're allowed to discuss the micro stock business in their forums...

Long discussion here:

istock and the "no discussing competition" rule

There are possible legal issues with it - wait until someone says "upload is faster than IStock" on their forums & see if that rule changes. We used to be able to say anything about anyone at Shutterstock too.

Why are people so exited about being able to discuss other sites within certain sites forums, we've got here, MSG and various other forums and Yahoo groups where we can discuss any site we want.

What's the big deal?
