Thumbs up CooL feature on Mostphotos you might not have known about

I got into Mostphotos a few days ago, and am loving it. Easy upload. No reviews! No sales yet, but a friend of mine had one on his first day. Being paid in Euros is fantastic, since 1 euro converts to $1.59 USD.

Here's my profile and some of my stock collection that I uploaded so far:

If any of you are already on here, make sure to add me as a friend.

Whats even BETTER - you can get at your images anytime from anywhere with an internet connection - like free online hosting. You can download single images or your entire portfolio in one big zip file. So even if you don't even make any sales, you always have access to your pics! I get excited over the littlest things.

Not that you shouldn't back up your stock photo collection onto external hard drives or DVDs, but this is another safeguard you might want to utilize when signing up for Mostphotos. Even if I don't make one sale, I still have fun in the photo community with the comments, ratings, and chat rooms. This great little "free downloads" feature that I discovered is just the icing on the cake. Being able to download any of my own images for free at any time, has always been a feature I've loved, especially on other sites like Stockxpert and 123rf. What's better about MP is that there are no rejections, so you can be sure that ALL of your images are accessible; not just the ones they accepted.

You got it. Like I said, 123rf and stockxpert also have this feature, but it's not like everything you upload to them is going to be 100% accepted. With Mostphotos, everything is accepted

This is great for backup. Is it any good for stock photography?

No, the site is populated by artists with odd ideas on photography. Things like composition, focus and alignment are not even considered.

For the most part, there is a lot of talent that I've seen so far. There are also some new ones on there that don't understand the fact that they can't upload super-noisy or jpeg compressed images to a stock agency. What it comes down to, though - is that images with poor composition or poor technical skill don't usually get rated very highly. Ratings/views/comment I believe count for everything on this site. It makes a difference in how your images are ranked when users search for certain keywords.

One of your best acerbic responses. It had me laughing out loud. I assume you are using the word "artists" very loosely?

I may try this site after all instead of ignoring it. Oh wait, I'm interested in "sales", not "art" at this point in life. The motivations and results of each are usually two worlds apart. Not that either is less than the other. One is practical the other is ethereal.

When I want to insult a photographer, I usually call him/her an artist. To me it means someone disconnected from reality.

That said, I have joined the site and uploaded anything I could grab from my backups, just to see how it goes. It would be interesting if I manage to sell some of those photos other stock sites did not even want to touch with a pen. But frankly, I don't think I will sell anything over there. It's just so easy to upload that I think everyone should give it a go. Just for fun of it. To see how these silly users come to your photos giving their point of views about them, as if they actually understand anything about photography. :-)

I have three photos up there and have been ignoring the site. I think I should change my attitude when I have some time and enjoy the place.

Yeah, I'm sure the charm will wear off eventually if sales don't start to happen...but for now I'm getting a big kick out of it
