I hear you man...The easiest way to make more money off of your images it to add your existing images to new sites (as long as they are sites that produce sales) I have done this many times in the past, personally. At this point, I don't have the time to upload to more than what's already on my plate. If I was a full time stock photo guy, sure I'd be all over it like white on rice.

I have a big problem with Albumo's pricing structure, and the fact that they buried the information at first. It wasn't located in a place where it could be easily found, and I didn't discover it until after I signed up. Basically, they only offer the original size for sale until the photo has five DLs, and then they offer increasingly smaller sizes down to small size when certain sales goals have been met. This is applied to each image instead of the entire portfolio. So...what we're doing is selling our original sized photos and earning only 40 cents for it. We will only start receiving what other sites pay us for our original size AFTER the photo has sold 50 times. That's unacceptable.

There was also a time when I contacted support, and they in turn sent me a nasty little e-mail and did nothing to work out the problem.

Hey Everyone,

I'm John the founder of Cutcaster and wanted to just add a bit more info to the discussion.

We do have ftp access but we haven't gotten it to parse out and collect IPTC data yet so have held off really publicizing it for photographers (we do collect it during the upload of single files on the site at Cutcaster: The digital video marketplace : Register for Cutcaster). If users wanted to use the FTP they have to either send us the data in an excel sheet or put it in by hand once the files are released to the site. Its definitely not ideal but we focusing on this and its at the top of our development work In the meantime, we have made it possible to upload multiple files to the site and also collect all the associated metadata (IPTC) at the same time. This feature is testing and will be ready in a few days if not sooner.

Here is an article that was just written about us that talks about how our pricing and marketplace works for you.

CutCaster Creates an Efficient Photography Marketplace

I'm open to any and all suggestions and if you do have any questions I am always free to chat at 215-688-2751 (my cell) or by email at john@cutcaster.com.

Best,

Yikes! I didn't know any of this. No wonder they insisted on keeping images for 400 days. I guess they knew that as soon as we all figured this nonsense out we'd bail on them. Damn...I wish I had read more thoroughly.

Albumo would still pay more than SS, though.

I did not upload my full size photos, anyway. I hardly ever do.

I've been with BNPS Worldwide for a short time, but in that time I have already seen them update their web site (in the last month) and add a really nice referral program (where there was none before). My portfolio is very small there and I have been slowly adding to it, but the photographer who referred me there tells me he's been there for a while and done really well. A lot of sales at different times during the year when magazine companies purchase large amounts of photos for their upcoming issues.

Their upgrade also increased the file sizes they accept including the total size of the five photos. Before it was quite small and some of my batches could only be uploaded three at a time instead of five to meet their size limits. The one thing I wish they would do is include more reasons for a reject, sometimes no reason at all for a rejected photo.

I'll also add my referral link (10%) to sign up there: BNPS Worldwide

Custcaster does look pretty nice. I hope they take off and I'll have to watch to see what happens with them.

I searched that site on the three strongest keywords I have and found almost no images???!!!
Why would I want to spend time uploading there?

AJN, if you just post the sites you are already on, I guess nearly everybody here will be happy to suggest more sites + (referral) links to submit to, just a thought, SY

Me, too. Better believe I won't be making that mistake again.

Ah, Part of the problem. If we as a whole that care about this. This will become just another repository of crap. Is That what you want? Go for it. make a dollar or two and post how exiting it is like LO. God bless. Matter of fact , I want everyone to send everything they couldn't get approved anywhere to this site. Then after 300,000 images they will wake up like the others did and say "OH SHIT" what did we do, we got nothing but crap. Great Idea for our future. And is what is killing us now and keeping our commissions where they are with all you Part timers and hobbyists. Don't you understand this is exactly what they want. ......Junk they can sell for nothing. My God!!! Wake the F%^$ People.
