Default Keywording service

Hi everyone,

I have created the site for photographers and illustrators to speed up the process of finding keywords to the images. The basic point is that the list of keywords is not abstract, the customers actually use these keywords in their searching process. You can test the beta-version of the site here: PhotoKeywords.com: keywording service.

How does it work?
1. You type in the form several basic keywords, which exactly describe your image. You can use search engines of Shutterstock or Dreamstime. You can also combine the results of search.
2. Among the results of search you choose several images which are most similar to yours.
3. The site automatically takes the keywords from the chosen images and demonstrates them. Identical keywords which coincide in the chosen images will be removed automatically. Also the list of keywords will be automatically sorted by frequency of use in the chosen images and then by the popularity of retrieval requests to make easier your final selection of keywords.
4. First 50 words in the list are marked as most relevant to the image.
5. After you make all the necessary changes, the final list of keywords is generated.

Now a few words about where I have found the base of retrieval requests. On several photostocks there are pages (Community of Stock Photography: Download Free Stock Photos and Royalty Free Images, Stock photo searches and image uploads ยป LuckyOliver) where the latest retrieval requests are generated. I have created a program which automatically collects these requests. For approximately two months my program collects 90.000 retrieval requests from Dreamstime and 270.000 requests from Luckyoliver.

If you’ve got any ideas concerning improving the site, you are welcomed to mail them here or to the following e-mail address: photokeywords@gmail.com

your site is pretty awesome, I am sure it is going to be a great hit, once the word gets out,no pun intended, your site is going to be pretty busy. I think its great, I even get to see a few of my old images which I haven't seen in along time. maybe I will re-keyword those and generate a few sales with them.

I shall be using it often, well done to you. and thanks
all the best Pam

Very well done! Ingenious tool!

Is this going to be a permanent service? And will it be free?

Cheers,

Antonio

I tried it. I liked it. :-D

What's funny is I selected only one image, which matched pretty well with my one image. There were words extracted from the lone image, that had nothing to do with that single rock, isolated on white. "Zen" "Health" ?

Maybe it's just me not understand a health rock that someone else keyworded that way, and I'm not Zen enough to understand that connection.

But I did find some nice keywords that I hadn't included, and that I overlooked. Very nice!

Just make sure you guys don't use the service to copy the keywords verbatim. SS will issue a warning and DT will remove your portfolio entirely, if they discover outright copying (Remember the Dale Hogan Worm thread?).

Uliss...perhaps you can add a notice to the site informing users that outright copying of entire strings of keywords could result in a warning or termination from the sites.
