Default Zymmetrical

Hello Everyone,

Is anyone here with Zymmetrical?

I signed up last week and uploaded 5 photos and 5 vectors to test the upload.

- I can't assign model releases or edit image info. Is this a new problem? I've seen online images with people, so it must have worked for someone.

- They approved one and the other nine are still pending. Since the other 4 photos need MRs, I think that may be the problem.

- The site seems buggy but, being on Beta, I can understand some glitches. The site organization is interesting, though, and if they can smooth the errors, it's looking good.

- The prices are interesting, even though the number of sales is probably low.

What is your experience with them?

Does anyone know of other mid-stock sites with promising starts?

Thanks for any input.

Cheers,

Antonio

ImageVortex is starting to pick up. I started uploading to them again 3 - 4 months ago just to see what would happen, have 38 photos online, and have had two sales. My pricing is $30 for a large.

I have uploaded about 80 to them. Reviews take a long time. Some of my files didn't upload properly with ftp. I don't get the pricing. No sales yet but I have only been there a few weeks.

Thanks for the input.

Any more ideas?

I'm leaving a few micros in January and am looking to expand my uploads to new sites.

On a note, is anyone experiencing the same problems uploading to zymmetrical?

Cheers,

Antonio

Hi Antonio,

Was just checking some stats and noticed some traffic from here, so I thought i'd pitch in.

I'm the founder of Zymmetrical, my partner is Paul Melcher. We do have contractors on hand for some tasks that can be easily outsourced, but for core processes such as editorial reviews and programming it is very much a 2 man show - any larger and we wouldn't be able to progress as quickly as we have.

I apologize for any technical glitches with uploading. Every day so much is changing.. for example we moved to several brand new servers in early Decemember and basically pulled it off over a Sunday afternoon.

We have gone through -3- different commercial FTP systems over the last 4 months, with the final (I hope) version now being a hybrid integrated commerical and privately coded system.

Please give it another shot on our Submissions Page.

As for backlogs, we are blazing through the submissions that we have accumulated since the summer. It is a big pile and we want to make sure everyone get's treated evenly, so please stay tuned we will get to your submissions.

p.s. we really mean it when we say things are changing daily, stay tuned for some -major- site changes in basic design & usability dept.

Well it's always nice to see someone managing to pull things off on a Sunday. The last time I did that the wife didn't talk to me for a whole week :-D

Hi Zymmetricaldotcom,

Thank you for the reply.

I have no problem with the FTP. The problem is when I try to associate the model releases. If I click the "Edit" icon, I get a message saying "This section coming soon. Upload model releases, associate existing model releases, and more."

I got two images approved that require a model release, but even though I uploaded it to the site (through a link I found on the forum) I couldn't associate it to the photos.

I'll give it a bit more time and start uploading my portfolio in January.

BTW, how are the prices calculated? I noticed that my 3 images approved have different price tags.

A Merry Holiday Season to all,

Antonio

Nice when an owner/operator takes to time to answer questions from the people who give their site a life. Thanks. Stay in touch.
