I can't remember why or how I got to this site, but I was reading and thought it might be interesting reading and possibly for discussion. Anyone a photographer for these folks? Anyone want to be.
Now, through one single website, age fotostock and THP users will be offering for immediate licensing and download Rights Managed images, most of the best Royalty Free images available in the world market today and now the offer span to cover really great Royalty Free images at a lower price than the market average.
This critical partnership that has taken some time to finalize in order to reach a very clear understanding between both companies which will enable a substantial part of more than 500.000 edited royalty-free images that PantherMedia will make available for licensing within the easyFotostock LBRF model.
Age Fotostock excerpts from the submitting information:
An initial selection of about 100 (or more) photos will help us to assess the kind of photographs you produce.
We require worldwide exclusive rights for the exploitation of all selected images. This means that the photographer may not send the same image or any similar ones to another stock agency, or sell it directly or indirectly to third persons without the written authorization of age fotostock. While we are flexible with promotional exhibitions and understand the photographer?s need to promote his or her work, we certainly don?t appreciate a photographer selling a selected photo cheaply to a mutual client.
You should send your images for selection as low-resolution files, we repeat at low resolution. They should be 1024 x 768 pixels at 72 ppi, compressed with quality set to 8 in PhotoShop.
(ftp is available)
The high resolution photographs should be images in RAW or TIFF (please avoid using the JPEG format when shooting in digital). If you are a photographer who enjoys giving a personal touch to the image after it?s been taken, please save your RAW files as 8 bit TIFFs when your creation is finished.
Don?t forget to clean up any marks left by dust in the CCD sensor. We will return your photo if this hasn?t been done.
You should send the images in one of the following ways:
1. In RAW as they were produced
2. In TIFF at 8 bits, uncompressed or compressed with LZV
3. In JPEG compressed to maximum quality (12) in PhotoShop
(easyFotostock Low Budget Royalty Free, shows as under construction at the time of this post, but AGE has RF listed on their site)
I think some of these things have come up before, but they want RAW and TIFF, and express that, however will consent to taking JPGs.
Exclusive rights to images and similar images.
The low res submission, then final high quality after selection, is interesting.
8mp minimum, by the way.
