Default Shutterstock - Purging Images?

I don't know if I missed something or not, but I just noticed that the number of photos in my portfolio at shutterstock has just dipped by 4. (I know it's small, but I just can't come up with an explanation) I've recieved no e-mails about it, nor do I remember reading that a purge was to taking place. I'm wondering if anyone has noticed something similar or if they have any explanation?

Thanks.

There's one missing from my gallery - one of my early ones.

See this thread Shutterstock Photographer Forum :: View topic - Images in gallery number dropped

It has to do with the canadian coins and the queens face being copyrighted, but I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't brought it up.

Thanks Gracey... I definitely had some photos of Canadian money... I'm sure those are the ones that just bit the dust. Would have been nice to get an e-mail from ss about it though...

Seems like an odd way of purging images. Seth says they just purged anything with "Canadian" and "coin" in the keywords. Doesn't it stand to reason that there could be a lot of things out there that would contain those keywords and not necessarily depict the Queen?

Yes, there could easily be images of canadian coins without the queen's picture - if you've got the coins facing in the right direction you can still do coins that don't contain the picture. I looked at the one I had but it did have her head on some of them. I've contacted the other places I have that image and asked to have it removed.

Do you know if it applies to Canadian paper money showing the Queen's face

Since it is the Queen's Image that is copyrighted I would expect that it would also apply to paper money. There are $20 bills issued in 2004 with her image on the front - each year they reissue paper money it changes, so you'd have check all the various years of issue.
