Are you an image reviewer?
Updating my web site I added a forum with a hidden board for image reviewers. You can check it out here: Forum (Ok, obviously not the hidden board but the "portal" to it...) As I started reviewing for stock sites more then a year ago I tried to find something like this, a place where reviewers can exchange tips and tricks and discuss their work conditions but I couldn't find anything! So I thought now with the web site re-vamp it is a good possibility to offer this, SY
PS I am reviewing for Lucky Oliver....

Sy, All The Real Sites, reviewers have to sign a non disclosure agreement saying they will keep there mouth shut. been that way for years. I think it's a good Idea for obvious reasons. Maybe not LO. They are all given Fictious names.

That's true. And some sites will go so far as to fire any reviewer who reveals his/her identity. Just gonna have to stick with LO's bouncer blog for discussions with other reviewers.

Bad bad idea, what would you want to discuss with reviewers from other sites?
This sort of thing could be used to lead personal vendetta's against contributors, which is unfair.
It could also be seen as wanting to start an elite club amongst reviewers to give each other favourable acceptances. I'm very against that sort of thing, a reviewer should stand in line with the rest.
And to be honest a reviewer should know what they're doing without having to ask advice from other reviewers, if a reviewer has a particular problem it should be discussed with the person in charge at the site where they review.
And as far as discussing work conditions, well if you're not happy don't do it. And as Laurin has pointed out most sites have a clause to stop having their dirty washing aired in public, I think if you check LO have such terms!!

when I read suggestions like this it's just another stark reminder of why LO has about as much potential as a fart in a space-suit.
Not only is LO being managed by the grand guru of hype we now have one of its disciples trying to set up a reviewers club to massage the over-inflated egos it lures.
"Hey everyone! guess what, you won't believe this but Bryan said I could be a real reviewer and now I want everyone to notice me coz I can't keep it a secret any longer?"
Puhleeezzz, must we continue to suffer these people??

Difficult to reply to this ones... The general idea is to have a "meeting place" for people of the same profession, not more, not less.
"NDA's"
Yep, I signed one at LO also and will obviously stick to it! Meeting with others doesn't automatically imply giving away industry secrets. I heard that some site don't allow their reviewer "to go public" and can't comment on these exact agreements as I don't know them. But I know that some sites are pretty open about who the reviewers are. So everybody would have to check for themselves if their working agreement allows them to participate in such a forum.
"...what would you want to discuss with reviewers from other sites?"
One point would be to get together a knowledge base about copyright, I am pretty sure most of us check regularly the technical wiki at Istock, each of us has for sure a collection of bookmarks etc Would be great to collect all this in one place as a source of reference for everybody involved. And obviously you could ask others if they have some information if xyz building is copyrighted or not... Hm, what else? Tips and tricks of the trade, for example I review with two computers simultaneously, one for the 100% view of the images, one to type my comments into the fields, speeds things enormously up! Others might have developed other methods that make reviewers live easier ;-) There are a lot of things that could be discussed without breaking any work agreements...
"This sort of thing could be used to lead personal vendetta's against contributors, which is unfair."
Oops, you mean all reviewers united deciding to reject xyz's images across all sites??? I don't think that could easily happen, forums are kind of self-regulating and in extreme cases like this scenario there is always the forum moderator...
"It could also be seen as wanting to start an elite club amongst reviewers to give each other favourable acceptances. "
Oh dear, same here, I don't believe that people are so bad...
Don't let us get into a heated debate about this, the board is there, if anybody wants to join fine, if not, nothing happens, literally ;-) SY

I was not aware that being inspectors is like being in the ultimate exclusivity club. Silly me, I thought most of them were just poor photographers not making enough money with the job that should actually feed them...
Well, in that case, I must apply somewhere to become one of them. I also want to join this very exclusive club... :-)))

This could have been an interesting thread. It gave us all a chance to talk about non-disclosure and how reviewing worked. Instead, you used to tell everyone how important YOU are, because apparently you must comment on every thread.
Editorial, will you please shut up?
PS: LO is obviously damned important to deserve so much attention. I'm signing up today!

I review images on occassion, but I honestly haven't had much time for it lately. It's a lot of fun, when you're bored. Wish I COULD be bored..."free time" is become a precious commodity for me.
