Default This is a new one, Stockxpert rejection

Hi,

Whatever you submit, if they don't like it they just stick a rejection reason to it.
Had this on several files today, files that have been waiting for reviewing for more then a month, reject reason :

"please do not use de-noise software. It lessens quality"

Here are some excamples of those rejects, accepted at every other site :

Strange thing, no noise reduction was used, my guess was that sites with strickt standard would have rejected it for too soft (but they didn't), i rarely use sharpning in camera, it is standard set to medium low to avoid noise.

Sigh, sigh

Patrick.

These are good shots. Haven't they any kind of appeal system?

If you can be bothered wait a couple of weeks and resubmit. I did a series of isolated figs resently and one of the shots is my best seller on IS and SS, but SXP went and rejected the whole bathc with 'we're not looking for this right now'. This was in the middle of the mess they were recently in. As review times now seem to be back to normal I thought I'd try and resubmit some of those insane rejections and hey! now my delicious figs are on SXP too;o)

resubmissions are such a pain. on really good images that get rejected the first time, you have to- its so stupid that almost 90% of my resubmissions get accepted the second time around, and sometimes even become great sellers.

I've been in microstock for about 2 1/2 years and have learned a few things about image rejections :

1) Some are totally BS. In fact, no matter how hard you analyze the rejection it's impossible to agree with it. The reviewer just pushed the wrong button. Those you just resubmit later.

2) Some are arguable. Those you also resubmit later. Don't waste time arguing by email or phone.

3) Some make sense. You fix them and resubmit. If it's beyond fixing the stated problem but still useable IN YOUR OPINION, submit them elsewhere. It's amazing what sells. Everyone has different standards.

4) Because of the nutty mood swings of reviewers (on most sites) it's insane to be exclusive to one site. Might as well delete 10-20% of your work.

I agree with the 4 points, although I would add my own two points:

5) Sometimes it is just a matter of taste.

6) Sometimes it is just a matter of misinformation, especially regarding copyright.

Anyway, nice photos Patrick. Don't get discouraged. At least the other sites knew what they were looking at. You are not alone in this. Everybody on here has known this frustration of rejections. I always feel better when one my rejected images, that is accepted on another site, gets a sale.
