Default What is considered a batch when uploading to Alamy

I need your help again. :-D

What is considered a "batch" when you upload your photos to Alamy through internet?

Many talked about a whole batch being rejected because one photo was not perfect. I have not uploaded seriously because of the fear.

If I upload one photo a day, is each considered a separate batch?

Many thanks!

Each upload is considered a "batch" - as far as I know. Seems to me a strange way to operate, rejecting a complete upload batch because when not all might have problems.

It can be any number of photos in a batch. You can have any number of batches pending for approval in the system.

If one of the photo in a batch failed QC like incorrect upsize, interpolation etc. Alamy may reject not only that batch with the failed QC photo, but all the other batches pending in the system. Yes, it is kind of strange to reject everything in the system due to one error file, but this is what happened.

Hope this answered your question.

Correct. They review like SS, all uploads regardless of how and when are reviewed at once. If any image out of the whole batch is rejected, you get to start over and wait another 3-4 weeks

Even though I have not got any rejections, that's what worries me. I uploaded a photo which I believe I could have processed better. I don't know if it will still pass the QC. It looks like I'd better not upload more until I hear the fate of this one, or at least wait a few days.

Of course I could have emailed Alamy support to have that photo deleted. They were very prompt in response last time when I incidentally uploaded a duplicate photo and found I could not delete it myself. Then I hate to bother people so often....

Another question, if you sold a photo at Alamy, do you get an email or you have to log in to find out? Thanks again.

I wouldn't know :-). I did just get my batch accepted, so I uploaded the next one.

No you don't get an email, go into your 'My Alamy' and there you can view any sales.

Thanks, RT! Not that I expect any sales anytime soon before I start to upload more seriously but it's great to know. :-D
