I spotted this on his site: "Warning! This site contains original and commercial source file links. Don't use theese files in any commercial areas!"

Baloney. The majority of people use stock photos for commercial work. Why would he post these up in the first place, then! Dreamstime and iStock should go after this guy.

DT is aware of it (Serban addressed it on their forum) and I've sent a ticket into iStock.

You can also flag the blog at the top of the page.

I wish he would have gotten one of mine....attorneys would have a field day. First, they'd nail the guy with the blog, then in the lawsuit, they'd request from Blogspot (through what's called "discovery") all the people and IP addresses of those who downloaded the images and they'd have subsequent suits against them.

One of these days an agency is going to get serious about this and pursue it legally. It needs to happen and hit the blogs so word gets spread that this is a serious problem.

People have way too much time on their hands. In the time it took them to throw that together, they could have been a lot more productive. People will do anything for hits - just so they can make 20 cents on their google adsense ads, that nobody ever clicks on anyway.

I'll bet Andres is going to be thrilled to see one of his photos used to advertise this nonsense.

Besides stealing, what the hell is he doing? The site makes no sense.

Corbis really has scared the crap out of abusers by sending them 5 figure bills for misuse of images. While I'm not sure if that's the best approach, it would be nice if an agency made an example of this blogger and their cavalier attitude with some sort of high profile legal action.

And am I missing something or did the rolling comments box that was getting full of microstocker comments suddenly disappear?

You seem to be unfamiliar with the hackers world. First of all, a blogspot adress is disposable, and nobody requires your ID there.

IP? Forget it. This weekend I'm in the Gulf states, Sunday in Manila en Wednesday in Cagayan. I can walk in any netcafe there and make all the blogspots/google email addresses I want, and post from there. If I'm clever, I do all offline, put it on a USB stick, et voila, 30 mins rental time. And don't forget HideIP Platinum.

The site itself doesn't post any illegal material, RapidShare does. Visiting the blogspot is not illegal in se. RapidShare changes hosters frequently and they work from Turkey, Kuwait, and from all those dim counterfeit or offshore paradises. They certainly don't keep logs.

If it would be so easy, the big guys had busted RapidShare a long time ago.

Ha! Sure enough, it's gone. I must have scared him with my post about having reported the site to IS and DT, and telling him they will be taking legal action.
