Thumbs up keywording and IPTC data using Adobe Photoshop CS3

We just upgraded to the CS3 Suite from CS1 here at work.

I notice that Adobe has "caught on" and now instead of semicolons you can use commas to separate keywords!!

I went to File->File Info and embedded a few under the "Description" tab. I opened the image up in another IPTC viewer/editor on my mac, and they showed up - no semicolonds, just commas. CS1 used to always convert all of the commas to semicolons, which got to be a big paid when you wanted to copy/paste keywords to and from similar images. Some sites wouldn't accept the commas. There is also an "IPTC Content" tab which also has space for description, and keywords.

Is anyone here using CS3 to embed keywords now? If it works with all the sites, I might just stop using IrfanView to embed IPTC data...

If you are using CS3 - should you put the keywords and descriptions under the "Description" tab, or the "IPTC Content" tab?

If it's the same as CS2 all the keywords and descriptions go under the "Description" tab.
This worked for me when I used to upload to the micro's

Yeah Kris is right, I am using CS3 and it is the same as in CS2. You need to put all the info under the description tab.

And FYI yes! it works with all sites

I use ACD see for images organizer. They are pretty good, they also have option to enter the keyword, title, and description info. Do not need comma, ACD see separate each word with comma automatically.

Nice shot Todd, what worrys me is that tub of Vaseline behind his butt!

Quick question for all you CS3 users, have they finally enabled you to be able to change the color of the cursor when using the clone/healing brush tool?

See - this is dumb. After you save changes to the keywords in CS3, and then go back to file info - it replaces the commas with semicolons still. When I open up the image in another IPTC editor/viewer (PictureSync on OSX) you can still see the commas.

I'll check into that cursor thing, RT. And no, I didn't notice the Vaseline. Eww!

Why are semicolons a problem? I've never had an issue them...ever.
