Default 123RF opinions

I'm currently on shutterstock, istock, dt, fotolia, crestock, and big stock photo. Debating 123RF, but I don't know anything about it. Any opinions? Worth the time/effort?

I'm getting into the habit of asking around about a site before I get involved, in an effort to avoid the mistake I made by wasting time on crestock.

I uploaded most of my portfolio last month. It is a very easy procedure and the sales are not as good as most sites but it wont take too long to get a payout. I am quite pleased with them so far.

Slow sales, but better then Bigstock, and very easy upload process. Also no categories (Yay), so all in all not that much of wasted time and they still seem to be growing.

Outselling BS and LO by far for me. Very easy uploading and quite fast review times. Low payout ($50) and no dreadful categories. All in all I'm quite happy with the site:-)

It depends on who you ask. For some, like AJN, they are a top selling site. For others, they are bottom of the barrel (don't get Laurin started!). For most they are somewhere in between the 2nd tier sites and BSP/SXP/FT.

Sales have begun to pick up, because they have started a print marketing campaign with a promo. I'm sticking with them, because it's fairly easy to upload to the site. The only problem I've run into is that they are extremely tough on similar submissions that come from the same photo shoot (even if they are high quality). I'm constantly having to go back and reupload rejected photos.

Sounds like mostly positive reviews. Think I'll give it a shot.

Thanks guys!

As I've said before on several threads, it's effortless uploading there and for me, it's worth the time.

I wouldn't say it's a top earner, but it's many times on par with FT and much better than CS, FP and BSP.

SS, SXP, IS and DT play in another league.

Good Luck

Karin - is this something new? I just had 14 out of 37 rejected for being similar (which they were) and hadn't seen that there before (I have similars there). Kinda' caught me off guard.

I'm not really sure, Ed. I think it depends on the images themselves. When I have submitted large batches of similars of a well-covered subject, the majority get rejected and I end up resubmitting them in small doses. But when I have submitted similars that are either shot in a unique style or of a unique subject, they all get accepted.

I agree with all above, same tier as FT, SX, BS, except I tend to sell more at BS than the others. I Don't count LO - they are in the future growth category.
