Default Pixel size vs document size????

I'm confused, thought I understood this stuff. I wanted to make a print of one of my images for a Christmas gift. I use Photoshop Elements 3. When I went to resize the image it has Pixel Dimensions of 3404x2170 but a document size of only 1.241 inch x .791 inch, resolution is 2744 pixels/inch. I then noticed some but not all of my other images are the same way??? What did I do wrong and will some of my customers have the same problem? This image has sold a few times. Is something wrong with my software?

This is the image by the way:

Try setting the DPI at 300. That's the setting all the micros use for prints.

Understood, but if the pixel dimensions are as listed above why is the print size so small?

The image is 3404 pixels long @ 2744 pixels per inch. Therefore 3404 divided by 2744 = 1.24 inches.

If you re-sample it to 300dpi, 3404 divided by 300 = 11.34 inches.
