Default Which lens do you use most often?

The other day my wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas. Got me thinking about lenses. Canon has some pretty nice glass. I think I would like a 70-200l lens, but when I look at my stock shots most of them are shot around 50mm or so and I like to stay around f8-f11.

The lens I use most often is 28-135 is canon. I use it for 2 reason's 1st the range of zoom means i'm not moving the camera around to get the shot. 2nd it's the best lens I have right now. the 70-200 is sure nice but maybe a 85 prime might be better for this.

So which lens is your favorite? and why? If you were going to buy another lens what would it be?

Bob

Default My favourite lens

That would have to be my Nikon Micro 55mm, not sure what era its from but Im sure it's two years older than God lol.

I have to set everything manually with it, but I find it great for macros, food shots and even used as a 'normal' lens it works fantastic.

If I was to buy a new lens, I would love one of Nikon's fish-eye lenses. Simply cos Ive seen some fantastic shots taken and would just like to experiment with my own. But they are mega expensive, well for me anyway.

Hi,

My favorites are both 50 mm, one from sigma f/2.8 and one from nikon f/1.8... i use both of them a lot.... but things will change...

Been saving up for my own xmas present and ordered a Nikon D 200 along with the sigma 105 f/2.8.... and having seen a lot of results taken with that lens i'm sure it will become my favorite.

Patrick.

Pentax prime 35/2 (also a 50/1.7 and 120/2.8, but most often the 35). Rich natural color, super-sharp corner to corner, much sharper than any zoom I have, easy to focus (I trust my manual focusing more than autofocus in most situations), and much less distortion. I don't usually need any more than that for what I do.

Well said! Cant count the amount of times that autofocus has let me down in crucial moments.

I like photographing with 50 or 55mm if I can, I read somewhere once that the human eye has a focal length of around 52mm. So the way my head works is that I can capture it the way my eye would see it, I think

70-200 f4 is the one I use for mostly everything...it is also the only lens I have besides the one that came with my camera. I love it...it works great. I have sold over 1200 stock shoots in less then 3mo with an average of 120 photos.

Thats interesting, I have a 70-300 mm sigma lens which I hardly use. I might reconsider trying a few indoor stock shots with it. It has a macro button too which I totally forgot about until now lol. I do do alot of table top photography, sometimes just with the backdrop and studio lights, sometimes I get the light tent out if I want more even diffused lighting. I have recently started doing more outdoor photography such as buildings and scenery, although I must admit I still think Im pretty awful at it lol.

Patrick,Ive been looking at the D200 as well, Im hoping to upgrade to it once Ive had this D50 for a year. What appealed to me was the ISO speed of 100 it goes down to compared to the D50 which lowest speed is 200.

No I don't. I am new to all of this but you can go to this link http://www.istockphoto.com/file_sear...userID=1155805 to see the photos I took with my lens. Most of them I used the 70-200 lens.
