Default Need utility to correct distortion

I have some panoramic stitched shots from India that need some distortion correction. Does anyone know of a utility that can help with this or that can do a better stitching job. Current stitch tool is Photo Stitch which is OS 9 only.

Have your tried Filters -> Distort -> Lens correction in Photoshop?

I've used it for straightening and fixing converging lines on shots of buildings.

I'll play with your shot and let you know.

Nope... Lens Correction didn't cut it.

I had to cut it into two sections. Applied distortion correction to the left side and horizontal perspective to the right side.

Here is my feeble attempt.

Thanks, I'll try that too.

I did find a some alternate utilities (DoubleTake, Stitcher and Hugin). DoubleTake is really easy to use but results aren't as nice. Hugin seems complicated so didn't try. Stitcher is high-end commercial and complicated.

I also found a newer version of Canon's PhotoStitch which runs under OS X but the results from the OS 9 version are better.

The image above is fairly close up for this kind of shot, hence the excessive distortion and glitches at the seems. Images with distanced horizons fare much better but objects in the near field tend to distort.

I'm so glad you posted this!!! I discovered this tool a while back and used it on some images with great results, and then promptly forgot all about it. When my memory decided to return, I couldn't find the darn thing. "I know it's out there somewhere!" LOL

So...

To my dearest memory...please remember "Filters/Distort/Lens Correction".

Now if I can just remember which images I used it on...:::sigh:::

Oh!!! I remember now. It worked really well on straightening out my neon signs to make them appear at eye level, while also maintaining some of the light's reflective shadow on the glass.

Sorry I can't help you with the stitching...that's way beyond my skill level.
