Default PixVue

PixVue

This little program is so worth the download (free!) - once you've installed it you can see you IPTC data and meta data and any annotations you've made simply by scrolling the mouse over the image thumbnail - you don't have to open the image at all.

Also gives you all this info if you view the properties - and you can edit the info without opening the images also.

I haven't used all the functions yet, but it creates pdf files and a web gallery, and provides html as well.

I'm probably going to dump Adobe Album (which I used for slideshows) and a couple of other minor programs.

Once I've tried the full functionality I might not even need Irfanview

Nice find - I'll have to check that out. :P IrfanView does the job, but if there's something better, I'd switch too!

Gracey, Ive been using it for about 2 months now, it's a great bit of software, the best feature is the templating system, saves me loads of time.

FOr some reason it stopped working on my machine about a month ago and I didn't know what to do!

Did you update windows by any chance?

I never let windows auto update - causes me all kinds of problems. I update it myself when I'm good a ready. PixVue works with windows explorer, so an update might have caused a problem.

The one thing i didn't do with pixvue was install the toolbar for desktop search.

Try uninstalling PixVue and grabbing a new copy and reinstalling (after you uninstall, do a reboot before you install the new one).

Also, hope you haven't installed anything with cdilla in it - that's a royal pain. Some sort of licensing verification that comes in some programs - but it can cause a lot of free programs some trouble cause there isn't any registration info on a free program.

Revenue canada once issued their tax software with cdilla in it and thousands of people who bought lost software use- some even that was registered. Cdilla apparently checks the license/registration of all software, not just the one it came in. That was a nasty piece of work - I had it on my computer from some stupid game we downloaded to trial. Took me a week to restore my stuff.
