Virago it look delicious lol! I love the one with the wooden spoon, I think the DOF is really creative. How did you light the subject(s), It looks really nice and even in the first image.

The second shot the lighting is a little uneven, quite a bit of shadow area to the bottom left bit of mince,

Ok Im going to post my pasta I shot last night, I just have to downsize it a little from the original

Thanks! I used available lighting. Tungsten ceiling lights and a small diffused flourescent over the stove. Shot with and without the spoon. Wasn't sure about it til I looked at the final image. The spoon made a lot of difference. Without, it was a bit boring.

Similar lighting on the other, but the placement of the flourescent isn't as good. Still working on my kitchen setup, but with the white countertops and white tile, plus two kinds of avail light, it should be simple. Just got to find the right combination and bring in a 3rd light source

I decided to try the pasta without the bottle of sauce lol, im not really satisfied with the shot, bit peeved about the highlights on the tomatoes. The garlic I nicked from the mother in law (Must remember to put that back before she notices hehehe.) The pasta is uncooked.

This image inspired a trip to the local Italian market and is what I'm cooking for dinner tonight. :-) To quote Rachael Ray, "Yum-o!"

Picked up a whole bunch of Italian ingredients (cheeses, salami, breads, tomatoes and garlic and mushrooms, gnocci and ravioli...), so I'm going to have fun this weekend shooting a new series of Italian food photos.

At some point though, I'm going to have to spend some time editing! I have several food shoots to go through, and then tomorrow morning I'm going to Lucky Oliver's workshop on food.

Hi, good shot.. but... here it comes...

the plate is blown out on the right sight corner, almost completely..... white plate.. white background... big no go....

The garlic.. the same... blown out highlights on the right side, due to to much light...
Use a different color plate than the color of your background... more difficult in lighting.... but the plate will be there... now... i see some vanishing details on the whole right of the picture... sorry...

Patrick.

ps : (again a ps..lol..) for a not so picky site this would be very acceptable...
