Hi my name is Eugene. I am a professional photographer but I am having so many issues with stock. I am barely making a dollar a month. Please help! Anything, I really appreciate it. All my links are below for where I have uploaded images.

Please help me somehow. College student and am trying to figure this all out.

A lot of microstock shots end up on websites. I guess it might help to try and think from a web designers point of view. Shoot subject matter that might be needed for a website.

I don't think there's an awful lot of demand for black & white either, although my only experience in that area are a few sepia shots that I tried that didn't sell.

Are you not on Shutterstock? You'll make a few dollars there. Especially if you have hundreds of photo's in your portfolio.

I think that snurder on the other forum has answered that quite well.

And like one of the other guys over there said. It's stock your trying to sell not art. Hardly anybody buying a microstock image is planning to hang it on a wall. Most are used in sales situations ultimately.

Eugenef, although I am no teacher, I think you need to understand the purpose of being a stock photographer.

You have to provide full, straight photos of your subjects and let designers decide on crop. If you take photos of a building, take a full front one, as well as your funny angled ones. If you take photos of a model, please let us know that he/she has head, arms and legs, including feet. And so on...

I think you've gotten really great feedback on your images on 2 forums now so I'm not going to pile on - I do want to say that there's a market for what you're selling but microstock isn't it - so you have two choices:

1) sell in those markets
2) shoot microstock type images

Correct me if I'm wrong, but are you selling the same images as rights managed and royalty free? That could be another problem for you.

Yeah you gotta make sure on Alamy you upload as RF, if you have them on other sites.

so here are my 2 Cents on the topic:

You shouldn't be trying to shoot big Art here or do some kind of Fashion-Show with Your models - instead focus on the Funktion that the Photos U are taking are going to have on a webpage or an advert; think more metaphorical style and in symbolism... don't try to make your Photos too realistically; and finally: make those Photots brighter with richer colors.
Just try to think a little bit more like a salesagent and a little bit less like a Photographer
...then I guess You'll be doing A LOT better!
