Default How Many Agencies Do You send files to?

I read some people who are exclusive, which is easy. One! But sometimes I see others who do the top seven or eight and some who send everything anywhere that will take it.

I wondered how many active agencies people send new files to as of Jan. 2009?

That doesn't count dormant accounts where you are just sitting on files, only the ones that you upload to on a regular basis.

I am uploading to 16 at the moment. A few of them will be a waste of time but some of the smaller sites have been better than I expected.

Just thought this might be interesting, since I read many messages that indicate people belong to many, but have been cutting back activity to the top seven or eight.

I know one or two people that will hit the Max. and probably submit to almost 30 agencies. I also included a slot for exclusives, so they aren't left out.

The results will be more entertaining than significant.

No exclusives yet. I was hoping more people would pass through and see the survey.

I was just looking for representative numbers. With so few replies, the information isn't very valid for making any conclusions.

Yeah, this forum is dead lately - it sucks, it's not how it used to be over here.

I am currently submitting only to the top two: IS and SS.

I think at some point I will go exclusive with IS, though. Their licence looks as the best one for us submitters. DT and 123rf, for example, have a licence which allows buyers to own you, your photos and your children, forever, with a single download. Which is frankly way too ridiculous. Especially DT.

I am thinking of dumping Alamy too. I have already requested to delete my RF portfolio there.

I have started working with real life customers and so far it is all very exciting. It does pay better and allows me to work at bigger projects. I will probably still do microstock between assignment, though. So, see you around.

Hey, microstock isn't for everyone full time. It's a full time job if you want to make a living off of microstock alone.

I think you can say that for a few reasons: (a) you are mainly a designer; (b) you live and work in USA, I don't; (c) I have a expensive lifestyle.

Even willing, I could not fullfill market requirements. I live in a hugely different country. Here, I can be a good professional photographer, since I have the skills. On a International market I can't provide what they need, since customers are used to completely different subjects. I have never met smiling people with perfect teeth and unbranded clothes in my life. Not to mention unrealistic green grass or even more unrealistic blue skyes, and so on. I think people should get a reality check.
