I'm still a micro virgin, I'll explain.
I spend from the end of April until Mid-October at the races. Just about every weekend I'm working as a volunteer corner worker, administrator duties, or media photographer for pro events. That means some weekdays as well. Most of what I shoot is not Micro suitable because of logos, designs, trademarks, and the rights that the sanctioning body and the tracks claim over all photos. Maybe someday?
Pro racing events I'm usually out trackside, or scouting the pits and paddock, from Sunrise to Sunset. I love it! Sometimes I forget to eat...
But I still have a desire to get back into something that pays more than one use in racing publications. That's why I hang out here and read advise and hints that everyone here is so good about sharing.
Social life? What's that? Until last Jan. I worked my day job and then filled in bar tending evenings and weekends, in the off season for racing. I'm possibly starting at a new place next week, which will mean one full time day job, the part time four nights a week, and still have all my weekends at the races.
My Sunday nights are free?
I carry a pocket digital camera with me everywhere now. I'd hate to miss a shot. I don't carry the DSLR except on weekends, because I hate to have it just sitting in the car and I can't carry around a big camera bag and telephoto when I'm away from the car. (I drive a station wagon, no secure place out of site.)
Might as well add in that I'm a computer geek and have a spare computer online all day long at the office. I can be working on orders or editing and still have the Internet and email up and waiting.
Of course I read here daily. This is my #1 photo site and the first one to read as soon as I have some spare time, while I'm not watching a computer run anti-virus, do a spyware check, or defrag.
Nothing better than a road trip with the camera, riding the back roads, looking for things to shoot.
