I think a kite to lift the cam would be about $100 - Looks like hes using some kind of radio gear that would be expensive , but you never know! you can get some pretty Amazing stuff from japan on ebay pretty cheap..

I don?t think I would put my canon up there but Im thinking about getting hold of an old lightweight digicam with a timer that would do the job

Looks like fun doesn't it..
