Default Slide / Film Scanner ?

I have some of my old slides and film negatives that may be suitable for stock photos. Do I want to scan them or just move on?

As far as I can tell the only way to get good scans is a dedicated slide/film scanner, as flatbeds just don't have the resolution or quality.

Suggestions on various photo forums have it down to a Nikon and a Minolta, that are about $600 and $400 (high price) to purchase.

Mostly I wonder if it's worth the time and effort, or will this fall short of Stock Photo site requirements?

Does anyone scan their film or slides and submitt them to the sites?

Yes, I've gone digital for a few years, just got a Canon 10D last year. I'm hoping that will produce enough of a quality image to submitt to the Micro Stock sites until I can move up to something with more resolution.
