Default Want to plan a meet in Los Angeles

Hey guys,

I started this blog on Istock and wanted your thoughts also:

It will be two years by the end of this month that I would have been on istock. It has been a hard but rewarding journey. I say hard because I never had any formal training in photography. The first camera I owned was the one I still use today. I never had a point and shoot or had any desire to be a photographer. It was only the need to have freedom in my life for the things I thought was most important?family and friends. That?s what helped push me through the learning curve. Istock has afforded me the opportunity to quit my job and do the things I love most.

I read over 20 photography books, went to 4 seminars and watched a number of videos and tons and tons of youtube photography lessons. But the thing that helped it all click was a class I took with George Simian. I later took a lighting class with him that was very expensive and amazing?he is defiantly one of the best teachers I have ever experienced. He also teaches at UCLA. The last class I took of his was through Sammy?s and cost me over $500 but well worth it.

In my former job I organized and orchestrated large conferences. Which brings me to this blog. I was wondering how many folks would be interested if I setup a class with George. I was thinking we could have a lesson for 3hr and then a 5hr shoot that he would coach us through that we could use for our stock stuff. I would find a location that has maybe three different shooting areas, 5 to 6 models, and a make-up artist. I haven?t priced everything out but I?m thinking it would cost around $275 per person with a maximum of 15 people. It?s a lot of work so I wanted to hear your thoughts before I started working on putting something like this together. I?ve never done anything like this so any suggestions would be awesome.

You can check out his website at George Simian.

p.s. I?m pretty busy and I?m trying to do 400 new images a month so the first available time to do something like this would be the beginning of Nov.
