I would have to agree with you 100% - there is no such thing as a perfect portfolio. The day someone thinks thier portfolio is perfect is the day they have given up - or should give up.
I think some very fine products can be produced from a point and shoot IF and ONLY IF the photographer does away with the snapshot mentality.
On the inverse, some of the snapshot images I have commented on above were produced with a
Nikon D2x. Absolute proof that regardless of the equipment - the photgrapher can make - or as on DreamsTime- break the image.
The thing that bothers me is I am almost embarassed that some of these snpashots come from a new reviewer!!
