For example, their watermark doesn't show at all on B/W photos. I have one of mine with hundreds of views and no downloads... :-)

Are you sure? My screen is a bit dark but If I turn up the brightness a bit, I can see the DT watermark very clearly, even on B&W images. They use a much smaller preview image than on some sites, so anyone stealing the image isn't going to be able to use it for much.
